- We're partnering with a fast-growing retail business to find a commercially minded
Digital Trader and Merchandiser to join their ecommerce team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys working at pace, using data to make smart trading decisions, and improving the online customer journey across a range of high-performing product categories.
The role
You'll take ownership of trading and merchandising performance for key online categories, with accountability for core ecommerce KPIs including sales, margin and conversion.
Working closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders, you'll help ensure products are positioned effectively, promotions are executed seamlessly, and the onsite experience supports commercial growth.
You'll be hands-on with category structure, product sequencing, filters, taxonomy and promotional execution, while also supporting wider SEO activity and monitoring competitor activity to identify opportunities for improvement.
- What you'll be doing
- Support the trading and online merchandising of products across customer-facing ecommerce websites.
- Optimise the onsite customer journey to improve product visibility, conversion and overall performance.
- Organise category structure, sequencing, filters and taxonomy across desktop, tablet and mobile.
- Work closely with teams across Email, Social, Buying, Design, Digital Marketing, Operations, Digital Development and UX/CRO.
- Monitor core ecommerce KPIs such as sales, CVR, AOV, margin and bounce rate, using data to identify issues and opportunities.
- Support and execute the SEO strategy.
- Carry out competitor analysis across pricing, range, navigation and promotional activity.
- Own promotional execution onsite, ensuring messages are accurate, timely and customer-focused.
- Track market trends and seasonal changes to align merchandising plans with customer demand.
- Work with Operations to ensure product availability supports campaign delivery.
- Support homepage and onsite page builds alongside Design and external suppliers.
What we're looking for
- Previous ecommerce experience, ideally within a fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong understanding of core ecommerce KPIs and the ability to report on performance clearly.
- Confident working with data, BI reporting tools, Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
- SAP experience is desirable, but not essential.
- Strong organisation, time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders.
- A customer-first mindset and a willingness to test, learn and improve.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience working with external agencies across SEO and paid media is beneficial.
