We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect specializing in containerized platforms to support a critical national law enforcement cloud program. In this role, you will lead the architecture, deployment, and optimization of highly secure, scalable Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, and Fargate environments. Working directly with lead architecture teams, you will ensure that cloud infrastructure aligns with stringent public sector security guidelines, NCSC principles, and national security compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure Solution Architecture: Design and deploy high-availability, fault-tolerant containerized applications on AWS (EKS, ECS, Fargate) adhering to strict public sector security standards.
- Security and Compliance: Enforce public sector standards (NCSC Cloud Security Principles, ISO 27001, GDPR) through tight IAM governance, strict VPC network policies, and robust secrets management.
- EKS and ECS Leadership: Lead cluster configuration, deployment, operational security, and multi-tenant management across AWS Kubernetes environments.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop reusable, security-checked infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation following "security-by-design" principles.
- Automated CI/CD: Design automated, secure CI/CD deployment pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, GitLab, Jenkins) with full auditability, rollback mechanisms, and artifact management.
- Monitoring and Reliability: Implement centralized logging, tracing, and proactive monitoring using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack to maintain strict uptime SLAs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as an AWS container subject matter expert, delivering technical designs and guiding multi-disciplinary delivery teams.
Key Requirements and Qualifications
- Active SC and NPPV3 Clearance: You must hold valid, active SC and NPPV3 vetting due to the sensitive nature of the platform data.
- AWS and Container Expertise: 5+ years of dedicated AWS Cloud Architecture experience, with proven mastery of EKS, ECS, Fargate, VPC design, and complex networking.
- Public Sector Experience: Extensive experience architecting cloud environments aligned with NCSC guidelines and government security standards.
