We're supporting a fast-growing retail business with the search for a New Business Manager to join its Marketplaces team. This is a key commercial role focused on identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new sellers across priority categories. You'll play a central part in growing the marketplace offer, building strong seller pipelines, and ensuring a smooth onboarding journey from first contact through to handover.
The role
- Identifying and recruiting new sellers across high-priority categories.
- Developing and executing acquisition strategies to support growth targets.
- Leading outreach, pitching, negotiation, and contract closure.
- Conducting market and competitor analysis to spot opportunities.
- Vetting sellers and supporting compliance checks.
- Guiding sellers through sign-up, onboarding, and early-stage support.
- Managing product onboarding and ensuring accurate, timely listings.
- Building and tracking a strong pipeline of prospective sellers.
- Producing reports and tracking KPIs to support performance and decision-making.
- Collaborating with internal teams to support seller launches and ongoing success.
- Representing the business at trade shows, webinars, and industry events.
- Supporting and mentoring team members where required.
What we're looking for:
- 3-5+ years' experience in business development, sales, or partner acquisition within a marketplace, e-commerce, or digital platform environment.
- Experience with seller and product compliance.
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in retail and online selling.
- Confident communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, written, and numerical ability.
- Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and administrative skills.
- Confidence using Excel.
- Experience with Mirakl would be desirable.
- A collaborative, professional, and proactive approach.
