About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join one of our Government Clients across a programme transitioning from the Alpha phase into Beta.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Artefacts: Verify and develop HLDs and LLDs using standard architecture tooling, ensuring alignment with central governance processes and standards.
- Discovery Gap Analysis: Identify and close architectural gaps left from the discovery phase to produce complete, actionable solution designs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Run options analyses, lead collaborative design workshops, and engage directly with programme stakeholders and technical communities to achieve consensus.
- Governance and Validation: Present and validate solution options through peer reviews, design forums, and Technical Design Authorities (TDAs).
- Hands-on Support: Work directly alongside Alpha phase development and DevOps teams to communicate agreed architectures and refine designs based on practical feedback.
- Future Procurement Strategy: Support the definition of requirements for upcoming procurement and development activity informed by hypothesis testing.
Key Requirements
- Active SC Clearance: You must hold active SC clearance.
- Complex Landscape Experience: Proven track record delivering solution architecture across large, complex, and highly regulated IT environments.
- Broad Architectural Styles: Expertise across cloud, distributed systems, monoliths, ETL, and cross-platform/organisational integrations.
- Pragmatic and Adaptable: Ability to rapidly pick up existing work, evaluate previous outputs, and drive designs to completion.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, conflict management, and negotiation skills, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders.
- Governance and Decision Tracking: Experience formalising and recording Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) within structured governance frameworks.
Key Deliverables
- Fully compliant architecture artefacts aligned with the Alpha Delivery Plan.
- Recommended solution architectures that address core needs within constraints.
- Clear risk and issue logs with associated mitigations for historical architectural decisions.
- Monthly status reporting and consensus driven architectural approvals.
