About the role

We are seeking a Lead Technical Architect to join one of our Government Clients. You will lead the creation of a solution high-level design to support key environmental and sustainability initiatives. You will be working closely with domain specialists, enterprise architects, and engineering teams to establish a robust architecture to resolve complex data ingestion challenges. A primary objective is validating and documenting high level requirements to ensure the solution is fully prepared for market tender.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution High-Level Design: Facilitate key discovery sessions to shape, define, and produce a comprehensive Solution design aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Requirements Validation and Documentation: Collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to capture, validate, and formalise high level requirements into procurement ready documentation.
  • Tender Readiness: Structure technical specifications and architectural boundaries to enable seamless market engagement for future contract implementation.
  • Data Integration Strategy: Architect a target data pattern capable of ingesting, transforming, and standardising complex multi-source datasets.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Proven track record as a Lead Solution Architect delivering HLDs within short timeframe engagements.
  • Data and ETL Expertise: Extensive experience designing architectures that handle disparate data sources, formats, and legacy/modern systems, with a focus on ETL pipelines and normalising to a single data pattern.
  • Public Sector Frameworks: Hands-on experience preparing functional and technical requirements for UK Public Sector procurement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between policy/sustainability leads, technical architects, and delivery engineers.

Desirable Experience

  • Background working with central government departments or public sector agencies.
  • Exposure to environmental data.
