Talent Included are delighted to be supporting our client with the recruitment of a People Advisor to join their dedicated People Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, providing practical advice to managers and making a genuine difference through people.

The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for day-to-day people matters, providing a high-quality, responsive HR service across the organisation. You'll work closely with managers and senior colleagues, offering advice, guidance and coaching across a broad range of operational HR and employee relations matters.

The role

As People Advisor, you'll be the first port of call for a wide range of people-related queries and will play an important role in ensuring managers feel confident and supported when dealing with their teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing practical HR advice and guidance to managers and colleagues across the organisation
  • Supporting managers with performance management and employee relations matters
  • Advising on and managing informal and formal processes, including investigations and disciplinary hearings
  • Supporting sickness absence and wellbeing initiatives
  • Advising on HR policies, ensuring they remain effective, compliant and family-friendly
  • Supporting contract amendments and other transactional HR activity
  • Working with colleagues to resolve payroll queries and issues
  • Maintaining accurate employee information and HR systems
  • Conducting Health Risk Assessments where required
  • Developing and reviewing processes for transactional HR activities
  • Supporting recruitment and selection activity and ensuring best practice is followed
  • Providing advice and support to senior managers on operational people matters
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to projects and new initiatives
  • Analysing people information and data to identify trends, make recommendations and support decision-making
  • Working collaboratively across the People Team to provide a consistent, high-quality service

About you

We're looking for someone who is confident operating in a generalist HR environment and who can build credible, effective relationships with managers at all levels.

You'll be someone who:

  • Has experience in HR, Human Resources
  • Holds CIPD Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum; CIPD Level 5 would be desirable
  • Has solid knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment practices
  • Has experience advising managers on employee relations and operational HR matters
  • Is comfortable interpreting policy and legislation and translating it into practical advice
  • Can challenge constructively and, when necessary, confidently say "no" while offering an alternative solution
  • Is able to analyse information, identify issues and make sensible recommendations
  • Has experience using an HR information system and working with people data
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Can produce concise, professional written correspondence and reports
  • Is organised, resilient and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Has a strong customer-service mindset and genuinely enjoys helping people
  • Can see the bigger picture while still paying attention to the detail that matters
  • Demonstrates discretion, credibility and a strong sense of responsibility

This is a multi-site role within the Southampton area , with some travel required between locations, so access to your own transport is essential .
