Our client is a long-established and highly respected principal contractor delivering refurbishment, roofing, cladding, coatings and energy efficiency projects nationwide. With nearly 100 years of trading history, they are recognised for quality delivery, technical expertise and strong commercial performance across public and private sector frameworks.

Due to a strong secured pipeline and continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The Role

You will take commercial responsibility for multiple refurbishment and construction projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with Project Managers and senior leadership to ensure effective cost control, risk management and contract compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Subcontractor procurement and negotiation
  • Interim valuations and variation management
  • NEC and/or JCT contract administration
  • Monthly cost reporting and cashflow forecasting
  • Risk and opportunity identification
  • Final account preparation and agreement

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
  • Experience within a main/principal contractor
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple live projects

Desirable:

  • Refurbishment, roofing, cladding or planned maintenance experience
  • Public-sector/framework exposure
  • Ambition to progress within a growing contractor
