We are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing Roofing Division, pricing roofing and refurbishment projects across London and the surrounding areas. Projects typically range from £50k to £1.5m and include commercial and residential roofing works such as re-roofing, refurbishment, flat roofing systems, pitched roofing, and specialist leadwork.
This role will suit an estimator who is confident taking full ownership of tenders, from initial enquiry through to submission, and who is comfortable reviewing drawings, attending site visits, and producing clear, competitive tenders. You will be joining a stable and expanding contractor with an established client base and a strong pipeline of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate and competitive tenders for roofing and refurbishment projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and schedules of works
- Attend site visits to assess scope, access, constraints, and risk
- Measure works and prepare cost breakdowns
- Price labour, materials, and specialist subcontract packages
- Liaise with roofing suppliers and manufacturers to develop compliant solutions
- Produce clear tender submissions including scopes, inclusions, and exclusions
- Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Respond to post-tender queries and commercial clarifications
- Provide structured handovers to the delivery team upon award
- Support the ongoing development of estimating systems and templates within the roofing division
- Minimum 5 years estimating experience within construction or roofing
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems including:
- Flat roofing systems
- Pitched and tiled roofs
- Lead roofing and heritage works
- Experience working with Quantity Surveyors, consultants, and main contractors
- Construction related qualification (NVQ, diploma, or degree)
- Experience pricing projects within London
Please note as much as we would like to support growth this role is not suitable for roofing operatives transitioning off the tools. Applicants must have previous estimating experience preparing tenders.
