The Role
A hands-on Chef Manager position leading the catering operation at a busy secondary school with a sixth form.
Overseeing breakfast, morning break and lunch services, alongside a separate sixth-form dining provision.
Producing high-quality fresh food, with appealing hot and cold choices for students and staff.
Leading, motivating and developing the catering team to deliver consistent food quality and efficient service.
Managing food costs, labour budgets, ordering, stock control and waste.
Building strong relationships with the school and responding to feedback from students and staff.
Maintaining effective allergen controls, food safety procedures and accurate compliance records.
The Requirements
Proven Chef Manager or Head Chef experience within education contract catering.
Experience delivering fresh food in a busy, high-volume catering environment.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to organise and develop a successful team.
Commercial awareness, including experience managing food costs and labour budgets.
A genuine passion for nutritious food and engaging students with varied, appealing menus.
Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management and dietary requirements.
Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Appointment subject to appropriate safeguarding and enhanced DBS checks.

Hertfordshire.
