Are you an experienced Executive Chef or Chef Manager who wants to lead a high-quality, fresh-food operation in a prestigious independent school? We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity in Central London, offering an experienced chef the chance to take ownership of a high-spec kitchen and deliver outstanding food across the daily catering service, hospitality and special events. This is far more than a traditional school catering position.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead a professional kitchen team
- Create fresh and seasonal menus
- Deliver food with the quality and presentation expected within a premium environment
The package includes:
- Salary of up to 55,000 per annum
- Monday to Friday
- Predominantly 7:00am-3:30pm
- 40 hours per week
- 52-week contract with 5.6 weeks' holiday

The role involves:
- Taking full responsibility for the day-to-day catering operation
- Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen team
- Producing high-quality food using fresh and seasonal ingredients
- Planning creative and balanced menus
- Overseeing ordering, stock management, food costs and budgets
- Maintaining excellent standards of food safety, allergens and compliance
- Building a strong working relationship with the school and key stakeholders
- Planning and delivering parent functions, hospitality, banquets and special events
- Ensuring every service runs smoothly and professionally
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food presentation
The ideal candidate will be:
- An experienced Executive Chef, Head Chef or Chef Manager
- Have a strong fresh-food background
- Experienced within independent education, premium contract catering, hotels, restaurants or events
- Confident leading and developing a professional kitchen team
- Commercially aware, with experience managing stock, budgets and food costs
- Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple services and events
- A confident communicator who can build excellent client relationships
- Hands-on, proactive and passionate about food quality
Some evening or weekend flexibility will be required for school functions and special events. The recruitment process will include an interview, kitchen visit and practical trade test.
