£30,500-£34,500 + up to £500 per month for sleep-ins | Progression to Deputy Manager
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join a supportive, forward-thinking Ofsted-registered children's residential home.
The home provides therapeutic residential care for children and young people between 10-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and mild learning disabilities (LD).
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, Senior Residential Support Worker or experienced Residential Childcare Worker looking to develop their leadership experience and progress towards a Deputy Children's Home Manager position, subject to performance.
About the Role
You'll provide high-quality care and support to children and young people, act as a positive role model and take the lead on shifts to ensure the safe and effective running of the home.
You'll work closely with the management team, support junior staff and help create a safe, structured and therapeutic environment where young people feel valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise shifts, maintaining high standards of care and safety
- Provide direct care and support, promoting independence, resilience and positive life skills
- Act as a key worker and maintain individual care plans
- Support and mentor Residential Childcare Workers
- Maintain strong safeguarding practices and report concerns appropriately
- Encourage education, hobbies, activities and community engagement
- Maintain accurate care records, daily logs and incident reports
- Work effectively with families, social workers, local authorities and other professionals
- Support compliance with Ofsted, The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
What We're Looking For
- Experience of shift leadership and key-working within a children's residential home
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, or currently working towards
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development and trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication, recording and organisational skills
- Experience working with young people with EBD, LD or complex needs
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in shifts
- Compassionate, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
