Talent Guardian is partnering with a premium design-led manufacturer based near Stevenage to find a Junior Fashion / Textile Designer who can bring creativity, innovation, and precision to a diverse range of soft goods projects.

You’ll take ideas from concept to reality — researching trends, creating mood boards, developing colour/material/finish schemes, and overseeing sampling — working closely with teams in the UK and overseas to ensure exceptional design quality.

Key Responsibilities

Research and forecast seasonal trends, producing mood and direction boards.

Apply a user-centred design approach to all projects.

Develop CMF (Colour, Material, Finish) schemes for soft goods, with occasional input into hard goods.

Select and specify colours, fabrics, and finishes.

Generate concepts using both sketching and CAD.

Review samples and give clear, actionable feedback.

Identify new fabric and material opportunities, including sustainable and technical options.

Maintain awareness of competitors, trends, and market shifts.

What We’re Looking For

Degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field.

At least 1 year’s post-graduate experience in a design role.

Skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and related design tools.

Understanding of textiles, including structure and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of print design and repeats.

Creative, detail-oriented, and eager to innovate.

Strong communicator — visual, verbal, and written.

Collaborative team player comfortable working across functions and locations.

Willingness to travel internationally when required.
