Our client is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Production Operative to support daily chemical production activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing chemical processes efficiently and safely, following all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely handle and work with hazardous chemicals according to strict safety procedures.
  • Execute chemical reactions and manufacturing processes as directed.
  • Accurately record the quantities of materials used in each production batch.
  • Conduct basic in-process testing and checks to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of plant equipment and general production areas.
  • Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) for the movement of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Package chemical products in both powder and solution form.
  • Operate and monitor chemical plant equipment.
  • Perform routine basic maintenance tasks on production machinery and equipment.

Key Working Relationships:

  • Collaborate closely with all site departments including production, laboratory, engineering, and warehousing teams.
  • Actively contribute to a team-focused environment.

Problem Solving & Role Complexity:

  • Requires a proactive and solution-oriented approach to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Involves learning and applying basic chemical and production principles.
  • Daily use of mathematical calculations and interpretation of basic test results is essential.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Must hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
  • Good numeracy skills and the ability to perform basic calculations.
  • Strong literacy skills to interpret production procedures and safety documentation.
  • Physically fit, capable of lifting and handling heavy chemical containers and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks, gloves, and goggles.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory setting is preferred but not essential.
