A fast-growing drinks distribution company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Finance team at their offices in Manchester.
The Role: Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity, managing audit processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead internal and external audit processes and liaise with auditors
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure Excise Duty compliance
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounts
- Act as main point of contact for HMRC queries and audits
- Monitor foreign exchange exposures and support treasury functions
- Track and reconcile money market investments
- Prepare detailed cash flow forecasts and variance analysis
- Support finance system reviews and implementations
- Maintain and improve financial controls and compliance frameworks
What You'll Need:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant
- Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience
- Strong knowledge of UK tax rules, VAT, and Excise Duties
- Experience with HMRC and audit processes
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
