Our client, a leading name in the automotive and defence sector, is looking for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Lowestoft.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of vehicle mechanical systems, including chassis, powertrain, and interior components
• Create and update precise 3D models and 2D technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
• Perform basic engineering calculations and tolerance analyses
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (manufacturing, electrical, quality) to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
• Participate in design reviews and collaborative problem-solving meetings
• Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company and industry standards

What We're Looking For:

• Proficient in CAD software with the ability to produce high-quality 2D/3D designs
• Eager to learn and develop within a structured, growth-focused environment
• Strong communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Full UK driving licence and valid passport required
• Team player with a keen interest in product innovation and engineering excellence
