We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a renowned event venue. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure the safety and compliance of one of the most prominent event spaces, overseeing health and safety operations for over 400 events annually.
As the Health & Safety Manager, you’ll manage safety policies, risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and contractor audits, working closely with internal teams and external clients to ensure the smooth operation of events and day-to-day venue activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the venue’s Health and Safety policy and ensure all staff are trained and compliant.
- Conduct spot checks on event documentation to ensure safety guidelines are met.
- Provide expert H&S support to Event Managers, contractors, and staff.
- Oversee risk assessments and safety guidelines for events, ensuring compliance during set-up, execution, and breakdown.
- Lead emergency response procedures, manage incident reporting, and ensure business continuity plans are in place.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor safety and compliance across various areas, including event spaces and plant rooms.
- Audit contractors’ health and safety procedures for maintenance, catering, and cleaning services.
- Issue high-risk work permits (e.g., working at height, electrical work) and ensure compliance.
- Proven experience in health and safety management within the events, hospitality, or venue management sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, CDM requirements, and risk management.
- Experience in creating and implementing health and safety policies, risk assessments, and emergency procedures.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Health and Safety degree or equivalent), and IOSH/NEBOSH membership is highly desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
