Job Description
- Liaise with outsourced bookkeeping provider, providing information where necessary,
- reviewing work for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure timely reconciliations of bank accounts, Amazon settlements, supplier invoices,
- and stock movements.
- Validate VAT returns, US sales tax data, and other compliance outputs prepared by the
- outsourced team.
- Assist with monthly management accounts and reporting packs
- Maintain oversight of cash flow forecasting and highlight risks/variances.
- Partner with the operations and supply chain teams to optimise inventory purchasing
- and logistics costs.
- Strengthening internal controls, improving efficiency in finance processes.
- Act as first point of contact for day-to-day finance queries within the business.
- Daily and weekly/monthly cash management
- Daily sales & Operational reporting
- Involvement in the preparation of the forecast, budget and long-range financial plans
- and creating the associated cash flows
Medium to Long Term (transition to internal)
- Take ownership of bookkeeping and reconciliations as they are brought in-house.
- Build and document financial processes, policies, and controls.
- Implement and optimise finance systems (e.g., Xero, reporting tools, inventory systems).
- Support preparation of statutory accounts, liaising with auditors.
- Assist in developing the internal finance team as the company scales.
- Maintain internal control, balance sheet reviews, and the monthly close process,
- develop and ensure financial controls are followed in accordance with company
- procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Strong experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end reporting.
- Background in e-commerce, retail, or consumer goods preferred.
- Familiarity with Amazon financial reporting/settlements advantageous.
- Proficient with Xero (or similar cloud-based accounting software) and Excel.
- Strong communication skills for managing outsourced providers and internal
- stakeholders.
- Desire to grow into a Financial Controller position.
