Immediate start. Weekly pay. Talent Guardian are recruiting for a Buyer on a temporary contract starting immediately until the end of December for our established client based in Poole.
As a Buyer you will be responsible for executing effective purchasing and procurement activities that align with the company’s Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) expectations. Ensures the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with suppliers to establish and maintain a reliable supply chain that meets company requirements for quality, price, and delivery.
- Resolve procurement-related problems and disputes logically and promptly, in line with company procedures.
- Obtain competitive quotations and procure goods that meet required specifications.
- Review and verify order acknowledgements against purchase orders; resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Manage supplier relationships to mitigate the risk of late deliveries or substandard goods/services.
- Handle rejected goods and coordinate prompt re-supply through purchase orders.
- Place urgent orders using the company credit card and record all transactions in the designated database.
- Oversee import purchases in compliance with the department's Import Compliance Procedure.
- Digitally scan and file all purchasing-related documentation.
- Attend and actively participate in daily team meetings, reporting relevant issues or updates.
- Organise and conduct meetings with suppliers to discuss procurement agreements or concerns.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Capable of performing under pressure and meeting deadlines. Excellent multitasking and time management abilities.
Knowledge and experience we are looking for- Solid understanding of purchasing practices and negotiation techniques.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with procurement systems is an advantage.
- Must possess a current and valid driving license.
The salary is £27k - £35k depending on experience. The hours are 37 per week.
