We are recruiting for a Housing Support Officer to join a growing supported housing provider based in Preston. This organisation supports individuals living in supported accommodation who are working to rebuild their lives and move towards independence. The role goes beyond traditional housing management and focuses on providing structured support, safeguarding, tenancy stability and clear progression pathways for service users.
The successful candidate will work closely with residents to provide practical support, promote accountability and help individuals develop the skills required to maintain independent living. Key Responsibilities- Provide structured support to residents living within supported accommodation
- Support service users to develop life skills that promote independence and sustainable living
- Maintain regular contact with residents through planned support sessions and welfare checks
- Develop and review individual support plans with clear goals and progression outcomes
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and any concerns are reported appropriately
- Work with external agencies including probation services, housing providers, support services and local authorities
- Support residents to access employment, training, health services and community support
- Ensure residents understand and comply with tenancy agreements and house rules
- Maintain accurate and up to date case notes, support plans and compliance records
- Assist with move on planning and ensure residents are supported towards independent living
- Promote a safe, supportive and structured living environment for all residents
- Experience working within supported housing, homelessness services, probation services or a similar support environment
- Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and compliance within housing or support services
- Ability to manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Empathetic and resilient approach when working with vulnerable individuals
- A genuine passion for helping people rebuild their lives and achieve independence
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
- Knowledge of supported housing compliance and housing management processes
- Experience working with individuals transitioning from homelessness, justice services or other support pathways
