Central Belt, Scotland | Private Growth Business | Senior Leadership Team Talent Focus has been retained by a fast-moving, ambitious private business in the Central Belt of Scotland to appoint a Finance Director to join its Senior Leadership Team.

This is a significant opportunity for a commercially minded FD who wants to do more than simply run the finance function.

The business is looking for someone who can become a trusted partner to the Managing Director, support the wider leadership team, and play a key role in shaping the company’s next phase of growth.

The Role Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Finance Director will provide strategic financial leadership, commercial insight and hands‑on operational support across the business.

You will be expected to understand the numbers in detail, translate financial performance into clear business insight, and provide constructive challenge to help the company make commercial and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities The Finance Director will be responsible for leading and developing the finance function while acting as a key commercial partner to the Senior Leadership Team.

Responsibilities will include: Supporting Senior Leadership Team with strategic decision‑making.

Contributing to the development and delivery of the company’s 5‑year business plan.

Providing clear financial analysis, insight and recommendations to support growth.

Preparing and presenting high‑quality Board packs and management information.

Identifying opportunities for cost savings, margin improvement and operational efficiency.

Reviewing commercial contracts, financial commitments and key supplier/customer arrangements.

Managing relationships with banks, lenders, insurers and other external advisers.

Supporting decisions around banking facilities, loans, funding and insurance.

Strengthening governance, compliance, controls and reporting across the business.

Helping the leadership team manage risk while maintaining pace and commercial agility.

Ensuring the finance function is fit for purpose as the business continues to evolve.

Acting as a constructive challenger and trusted adviser across the organisation.
