You write engaging, brand-aligned copy across SEO blogs, website content, email marketing, and social media — primarily for Matt Haycox’s ecosystem of brands. This role is ideal for someone early in their career, whether a recent graduate with a degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism, or English Literature, or someone with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in content writing or digital marketing. A strong interest in entrepreneurship, startups, and digital content is key.

If you're someone who loves the challenge of creating content that ranks and entertains — and you're not afraid to push boundaries with tone and ideas — this is for you.

Responsibilities
  • SEO Content Creation
    • Write and optimise weekly blog articles across multiple brand websites (e.g. personal branding, finance, entrepreneurship, real estate)
    • Research keywords, trends, and search intent with guidance from the SEO team
    • Format articles using best practices (headings, structure, meta, internal links)
  • Brand-Aligned Copywriting
    • Write in a tone that matches Matt Haycox's voice: bold, direct, smart, no-fluff
    • Adapt tone for different audiences across brands while maintaining brand consistency
    • Draft and update website landing pages, email sequences, and content downloads (eBooks, guides, lead magnets)
  • Content Ideas & Planning
    • Contribute ideas to the content calendar
    • Help brainstorm angles for blog content, newsletter topics, and SEO campaigns
    • Suggest ways to improve or repurpose existing content
  • Editing & Proofing
    • Proofread copy for grammar, flow, and accuracy
    • Fact-check and improve clarity where needed
    • Collaborate with other writers and editors when appropriate
  • Analytics & Iteration (Light Touch)
    • Review blog performance with SEO team (what’s working, what’s not)
    • Use tools like Google Search Console or SEMrush (training provided)
    • Update old blog content based on rankings, CTR, and other signals
Experience & Skills Required
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, English Literature or similar (or relevant experience)
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills — clean, confident, and engaging prose
  • Basic understanding of SEO or willingness to learn quickly
  • Comfortable researching topics and turning technical or complex ideas into engaging content
  • Bonus: familiar with CMS platforms (like WordPress) and SEO Tools including Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console and Google Analytics
  • Bonus: experience writing content around business, finance, marketing, or entrepreneurship
Personal Traits
  • “Brains and balls”: you’re clever and confident enough to challenge ideas or try something bold
  • Interested in business, marketing, and brand building
  • Proactive, curious, and not afraid to take ownership of tasks
  • Strong attention to detail but not paralysed by perfection
  • Can handle feedback well and loves improving their craft
  • Embraces AI tools: You understand that AI can massively increase your productivity, speed, and creativity. Even if you haven't used much AI before, you're eager to learn and open to using tools like ChatGPT to research, brainstorm, and enhance your writing. Training will be provided, but the mindset is non-negotiable: you must be excited by technology and ready to use it.
