Location: Manor Way, Rainham RM13 8RH and any location within the company serviced routes

Working Hours: Full Time, 6:00 am – 4:00 pm

Salary: £12.50 per hour, with a 1-hour unpaid break. Overtime may be required as needed.

Your role as a Yard Operative will be to maintain a safe, efficient yard operation, ensuring all damages are noted and reported and all required stock is clean and ready for hire in a timely fashion.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Previous Yard Experience
  • A valid Driving Licence
  • A fluent level of written and spoken English is required
  • A forklift license is a huge advantage
  • This is a manual role, generally working alone, so it would best suit someone physically fit, as this role is based outside all year round

What will your role look like?

  • Be a support for the manager
  • Maintain a high standard of hire equipment
  • Check all returned units for cleaning and damage charges
  • Clean and repair all units within the yard
  • Take direction from management on the day-to-day operations of the yard and handle any issues that arise
  • Liaise with the office (e.g., cleaning lists)
  • Unload deliveries and load units for clients' collecting toilets
  • Monitor and report on stock requirements
  • Keep consumable areas tidy
  • Ensure all drivers and anyone in the yard are wearing appropriate PPE
  • Perform any other yard duties as required
  • To always keep the yard tidy
  • Count and hand out stock to drivers
  • Promote safe working practices and a tidy, organised yard
  • Maintain efficient working practices
  • To always adhere to the company's core values
  • Be able to follow the company's Health and Safety rules and attend walkarounds
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
