Our client is a busy, friendly, and well-regarded firm of accountants with a strong local reputation. They support a wide range of clients, primarily local small businesses and personal tax clients, and are looking to welcome an experienced Accounts Supervisor to our team of 14. This is a flexible opportunity, suitable for someone looking for part-time hours (3-4 days per week), with the potential for a full-time position for the right candidate.

Requirements
- Essential
- Ideally 5-6 years experience within a private accountancy practice
- Confident working independently and managing a client portfolio
- Strong working knowledge of cloud and desktop accounting software
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Desirable
- Some highly experienced candidates may be looking to step into a slightly less demanding role
The Role
- You will manage your own portfolio of clients with a high degree of autonomy, while reporting to one of our Accounts Managers
- Assisting clients with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, VT Transactions, Sage, and FreeAgent
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Managing quarterly submissions to HMRC under Making Tax Digital (MTD)
- Preparing self-assessment tax returns and submitting them to HMRC following client approval
- Handling and responding to HMRC enquiries
- Finalising accounts for limited companies
- Filing company accounts with Companies House and HMRC
