Working Pattern & Salary Rotating shift pattern across a four-week cycle Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 5:00 am3:00 pm Week 2: Monday to Thursday, 2:00 pm12:00 am Week 3: Tuesday to Friday, 5:00 am3:00 pm, plus Saturday overtime Week 4: Tuesday to Friday, 2:00 pm12:00 am Salary up to £22 per hour, depending on skills and experience The Role As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring repairs are carried out safely and responsibly, in accordance with manufacturer procedures and required standards. You will assist with fault diagnosis, support roadside breakdowns and work with the Parts Team and workshop controllers to ensure vehicles are maintained correctly. Key Responsibilities Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturers procedures, safely and responsibly Ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with standard times using special tools where appropriate Assist in the fault diagnosis process Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and warranty material on completion of each repair Work with the Parts Team to ensure the correct replacement parts are fitted Road test vehicles when required if you hold an HGV licence Assist with roadside breakdowns Ensure company time recording procedures are complied with, and that job cards are completed accurately Ensure service sheets are completed as per instructions Ensure all vehicle defects are reported to workshop controllers Keep all workshop facilities, equipment and tools clean, tidy and well maintained Wear personal protective equipment when appropriate Support the development of young trainees and apprentices Requirements Essential NVQ Level 3 or equivalent City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Fully qualified HGV Technician Relevant HGV technician experience Strong mechanical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills A proactive attitude with a focus on customer service and safety A full UK driving licence Flexibility to work the full rotating shift pattern Desirable Previous experience working for an HGV manufacturer or dealer Experience with Scania, Volvo Trucks, DAF, Renault Trucks or other major HGV manufacturers/dealers HGV driving licence Whats In It For You In-house training with career progression Dedicated training school Electrics Level 1 & 2 training E-Mobility Training Oscilloscope Diagnostics Training Technicians are trained to a minimum Bronze Level Opportunities to progress to Silver and Gold Level accreditation Overtime opportunities Generous pension plan Enhanced paternity/maternity leave Health cash plan with access to dental insurance 25 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 30 days with service Savings and discounts for you, your family and friends on many high street retailers, holidays, hotels, gym memberships plus much more Referral scheme
