Our client is a leading and professional automotive repairer and MOT station with over 20 years of experience. They are committed to innovation and quality, offering a wide range of services to meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry.
They are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician/ MOT Tester to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting MOT tests, performing vehicle inspections, in-depth repairs (clutches, timing belts etc) and carrying out general servicing and repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a workshop environment
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Repair or equivalent qualification
- Valid MOT Testing Licence class 4 and 7 minimum
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair faults effectively
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and hand tools
- Experienced/Confident on working with Cars and Light commercials
- EV Level 3 training preferred but not essential
- Full UK driving Licence β Clean Licence Preferred
What will your role look like?
- Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements
- Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems
- Identify and diagnose mechanical faults and issues during inspections
- Identify and diagnose EML and electrical faults with vehicles using Diagnostic Reader
- Carry out necessary repairs and maintenance to rectify faults
- Carry out Road tests on all vehicles presented to workshop
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and services
- Advise clients on necessary repairs and maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and performance
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
