Our client is a well-established and growing organisation within the Accounting and Taxation industry, looking to recruit a Practice Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a keen eye for detail to develop within a supportive and progressive environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting a range of accounting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Duties will include:
- Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process
- Reconciling bank accounts, sales taxes, and payroll taxes monthly
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Preparing small company accounts in line with FRS 102
- Completing VAT returns using Xero and similar systems
- Managing payroll processes using BrightPay and Payroll Manager
- Handling general administrative duties, including emails and phone enquiries
Requirements
- Essential Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounting or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Desirable Experience using BrightPay
- Familiarity with FRS 102 small company accounts preparation
- Relevant higher education qualification
