Senior Mortgage Case Manager / Technical Case Manager | Leeds / West Yorkshire | Full Time | ÂŁ33,000 to ÂŁ35,000 DOE + Quarterly Performance BonusOur client is an established independent whole-of-market Mortgage & Protection Brokerage with 21 years' experience.
Based in East Leeds, they have built an excellent reputation and have a 5-star customer review platform. With strong processes and back-office systems, they are committed to providing a smooth and stress-free client journey, with the client always at the forefront of their service and advice.
They have a strong team of mortgage advisers supported by experienced case managers and administrators, and are now looking for someone with strong technical mortgage knowledge to strengthen their team.
The RoleThis is not a traditional administrative case management role. The successful candidate will have strong technical mortgage knowledge and will be responsible for reviewing and managing complex cases, identifying suitable lenders, challenging cases where necessary and supporting applications through to completion.
You will become an important technical resource for the adviser team, supporting difficult and unusual cases and helping to identify solutions based on lender criteria, affordability, income, property types and credit history.
The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm, with hybrid working available. Candidates should ideally be within a commutable distance of the Leeds office.
Exceptional candidates seeking a four-day working week may also be considered, subject to business needs. Please note that Friday must remain a working day. Key Responsibilities· Providing technical support and guidance to mortgage advisers· Reviewing cases before submission· Challenging advisers where necessary· Selecting and recommending appropriate lenders· Packaging applications· Liaising directly with underwriters and BDMs· Resolving lender queries· Managing applications through to offer and completion· Dealing with solicitors and other third parties· Monitoring cases and proactively identifying issues· Supporting advisers with difficult cases· Researching and interpreting lender criteria· Reviewing affordability and income calculations· Assessing property and lending considerations· Helping advisers structure cases correctly before submission· Keeping up to date with lender criteria and market changes· Sharing knowledge with the wider team· Attending regular BDM meetings· Contributing knowledge through the team's “Golden Nugget” section of monthly team meetingsRequirementsEssential· Significant experience within the mortgage industry· CeMAP or an equivalent mortgage qualification· Strong understanding of residential mortgage lending and lender criteria· Strong technical mortgage knowledge· Experience dealing with complex mortgage cases· Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills· Good communication skills and commercial awareness· Knowledge of mainstream lender platforms· Ability to support advisers with difficult casesDesirable· CAS status· Experience as a mortgage adviser who no longer wants a sales-focused role or as a senior mortgage adviser· Experience as a mortgage underwriter or lender-side professional· Experience as a senior administrator with genuinely strong mortgage technical knowledge· Experience training or mentoring advisersWhat's In It For You· £33,000 to £35,000 starting salary, dependent on experience· Quarterly performance-related bonus· Uncapped bonus· Three-month progress review with the opportunity to review salary· 26 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays· Statutory pension contribution· Free parking on site· Hybrid and flexible working· Professional development, training and support for professional qualifications· A role focused on technical mortgage expertise rather than sales· The opportunity to become the technical go-to person within the business· A varied caseload including complex mortgage scenarios· A supportive team environment· The opportunity to share experience and develop others· An established 21-year-old independent mortgage business with an excellent reputation and 5-star customer reviews· Strong adviser and administration support· A genuine long-term career opportunityWhat's next?
