We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a child with additional needs within our early years setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with one child, building trust, celebrating progress and helping them develop their confidence, independence and ability to participate fully in nursery life.
The working pattern
30 hours per week
Term-time only
4 days per week
9:00am – 5:30pm
12-month fixed-term contract
This is a dedicated 1:1 position, additional to the setting's usual nursery staffing provision.
Make a real difference, one child at a time
Your role will be to get to know the child as an individual — their strengths, interests, communication, preferences and needs — and use this understanding to help them access learning, play and everyday experiences.
You'll provide patient, consistent and encouraging support, helping the child to:
Take part in learning and play alongside their peers.
Develop confidence and independence.
Build relationships and participate socially.
Develop gross and fine motor skills.
Manage daily routines and transitions.
Develop communication and self-care skills.
Explore their environment safely.
Participate in activities through appropriate adaptations and support.
You'll work closely with the SENCO, Early Education Manager, parents/carers and external professionals, ensuring that the child's individual support strategies are followed consistently.
