Our client, a UKAS-accredited testing laboratory in Market Drayton, is looking for a Product Safety Test Engineer to help manufacturers bring safe, compliant products to market. The Role
You will test a variety of electrical and electronic products to verify they meet safety requirements. From assessing electrocution hazards and fire risks to checking labelling, user manuals, and environmental performance, your work will be varied and technically rewarding.
Key Responsibilities
Testing electrical and electronic products against safety standards (e.g. BS/EN IEC 61010, 60335, 62368, 60598)Evaluating product design for electrical, mechanical and thermal safety, including endurance testing of componentsAssessing electrocution hazards, fire risks, and environmental performance at temperature and humidityVerifying user manuals and product labelling for complianceWriting clear, accurate test reports and using calibrated laboratory equipmentWorking with manufacturers and designers to support product certificationWhat You'll Need BTEC, degree, or equivalent qualification in electrical or electronics engineeringExperience testing electrical and electronic equipment to safety standardsA customer-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple tasksA genuine desire to expand your knowledge and progress your careerExperience in a UKAS-accredited (or similar) organisation is advantageousWhat's On Offer Salary of £30,000 - £55,000, negotiable depending on experience37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm24 days holiday plus bank holidaysPension schemeTechnical training and continuous professional developmentClean, modern laboratory environment with high-specification instrumentsLab management career pathway for those who want itJob security in a well-established, hardworking teamIf you are a methodical engineer who takes pride in product safety and wants to develop a long-term career with a supportive employer, we want to hear from you.
