Location: Pitman Way, Fulwood, Preston

Working Hours: 39.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:00 – 17:00, 16:30 finish Friday) with flexible working patterns and hybrid working available. Core hours apply; however, additional hours may occasionally be required to meet business demands.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of moulded plastic products, operating in vehicle, fire, and environmental safety markets. They are a market leader in several European countries and ship to over 60 countries worldwide.

Operating from a 4-acre manufacturing site in Preston, Lancashire, and a 3.7-acre distribution site nearby, the group employs around 155 people. They also have a subsidiary in Seclin, France, employing 17 staff. Group turnover is approximately £22m.

The Role

We are looking for a Mid-weight Graphic Designer to join the team on a 14-month maternity cover contract. This role is designed to provide high-level creative support to the Senior Graphic Designer and wider Marketing team. You will be expected to work autonomously, interpreting complex briefs independently and delivering start-to-finish design solutions across print, digital and social media channels for both the UK and France.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Autonomous creative execution from written and verbal briefs
  • Creation of multichannel campaign assets for social media, email marketing and web
  • Social media support including engagement reporting and creative recommendations
  • Print and collateral production, ensuring all artwork is print-ready
  • Ecommerce graphics including web banners, UI elements and product imagery
  • Maintaining brand consistency across all outputs
  • Managing and organising image and video libraries
  • Supporting event and trade show graphic preparation

Requirements

Essential

  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficient in Canva for asset creation and scheduling
  • Strong Photoshop compositing skills including blending, lighting and retouching
  • Ability to independently interpret briefs and develop creative concepts
  • Strong typography and layout skills across print and digital
  • Understanding of print production specifications including bleeds, slugs, CMYK, spot colours and large format
  • Ability to produce high-quality work quickly and manage multiple deadlines
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a professional design environment
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating print, digital and compositing work
  • Experience managing high-volume output with technical precision
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related creative field
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders in the UK and France
  • Continuous learning mindset with up-to-date design knowledge

Desirable

  • Experience designing for international markets and adapting layouts for different languages
  • Experience using Premiere Pro or After Effects for video content creation
  • Basic animation skills for digital ads and social media elements
