Location: Dewsbury, WF13 2HF
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (flexible depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, Friday: 7:30 am - 2:30 pm, but this is a managerial role, so if anything comes up, tasks must be completed as required.

The Role:
They are seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations Manager to manage day-to-day administrative, production, and operational activities within a manufacturing site. This is a varied, hands-on role combining office administration, production planning, health & safety coordination, and factory support to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The role is fully on-site. You will work closely with production, accounts, payroll, and senior management and report day-to-day to directors and support staff based in Milton Keynes. During the first 3 months, the focus will be a blend of office administration and production / H&S operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Office & Factory Administration
- Manage production schedules and job sheets
- Maintain staff holiday records, wage and hours sheets
- Coordinate with accounts and payroll teams
- Support HR administration and staff welfare initiatives
- Oversee office standards, maintenance, cleanliness and safety
- Manage supplier contracts and vendor relationships
- Ensure compliance with company policies and confidentiality
- Production Planning & Operations
- Plan, organise and monitor production schedules
- Coordinate raw materials and paper purchasing
- Monitor workflow to meet production targets
- Support and collaborate with production planning
- Identify efficiency improvements and waste reduction opportunities
- Coordinate machinery servicing and maintenance
- Quality, Compliance & Health & Safety
- Take full responsibility for FSC audits, including preparation and execution
- Maintain quality standards across production output
- Maintain H&S documentation, risk assessments and training records
- Liaise with external H&S consultant
- Promote a safe and compliant working environment
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, factory or production environment
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Experience coordinating production schedules or production planning
- Working knowledge of Excel and Sage
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
- High level of attention to detail and confidentiality
- Strong organisational and planning ability
- Leadership and people management skills
- Operational and continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
