Senior Estimator Bespoke Joinery | Derby | Full Time | £50,000 - £55,000 + Package
This is not a standard estimating role. You will act as the commercial lead on site, taking ownership of estimating while also playing a key role in site operations. Our client is a well-established joinery business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality bespoke work across commercial interiors, furniture and specialist projects. As part of their continued growth, fire door and compliance-led work is becoming an increasingly important part of their offering.
- Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for bespoke joinery & interior fit-out packages
- Pricing fire-rated doorsets and demonstrating an understanding of fire door compliance requirements (training provided if needed)
- Carrying out site surveys to inform pricing and project delivery
- Handling variations and supporting the full commercial lifecycle of projects
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project handover
- Building strong relationships with contractors, clients, and stakeholders
- Help shape systems, structure, and ways of working
- Influence how the site operates from both a commercial and operational perspective
- Proven experience as an Estimator within joinery, fit-out, interiors, or a related construction environment
- Experience in pricing bespoke joinery projects and a strong technical understanding
- Exposure to fire doors, fire-rated products, or compliance-led work (highly desirable)
- Good understanding of fire door compliance requirements or willingness to develop in this area
- Strong commercial awareness, including job costing, margin control, and profitability management
- Experience managing project variations and working with clients or contractors
Performance-related bonus
~20 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
~ Travel expenses covered / access to company vehicle when required
~ Full-time, permanent position within a stable and growing business
~ Training and development, including exposure to specialist and compliance work
Primarily office-based in Derby (some flexibility considered after probation)
Regular site involvement, including surveys and operational oversight
Occasional travel to other sites and client locations
