Location: Oldham (Greater Manchester)

Salary: £30,000 – £60,000 (DOE) + Overtime (time and a half)

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday (7:00am – 5:00pm). Flexible working available for the right candidate (including early finishes where possible).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded, Mercedes-specialist operation in Oldham, known for its expertise across both UK and international markets. Working in a state-of-the-art, fully heated workshop, you will use advanced Mercedes diagnostic systems while supporting a diverse fleet – from passenger vehicles to heavy goods and specialist recovery units. The business operates a comprehensive, on-site setup, handling everything from vehicle sourcing and dismantling to global parts distribution. As part of a close-knit, highly skilled team, you will have the chance to refine your technical expertise, work at a high standard, and progress into senior or leadership roles within a growing and well-established environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a workshop environment
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Passion for delivering high-quality service with a results-driven mindset
  • Own tools
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in:
    • Commercial vehicles
    • Fleet maintenance
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

Desirable / Highly Desirable

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in:
    • Recovery vehicles (preferred)
    • Mercedes-Benz experience or training (highly desirable)
    • HGV / LGV qualifications
    • Mercedes-Benz certification (highly desirable)
    • MOT Tester qualification (advantageous)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Using cutting-edge Mercedes software and tools to diagnose and fix issues
  • Service, maintain, and repair a range of commercial vehicles
  • Carry out diagnostics and fault finding using advanced systems
  • Work on:
    • Light commercial vehicles (vans)
    • HGVs / LGVs
  • Complete a mix of servicing, diagnostics, and major repairs
  • Adapt to a fast-paced workshop where workloads can vary daily
