Our client supports retail businesses with their IT systems and is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented technician to join their field team.

The Role

This is a field-based position covering Newport, Gwent and the surrounding areas. You will be the on-the-ground technical presence for our client's retail customers, carrying out installations, diagnosing faults, and ensuring systems are running smoothly. A company van is provided, and full training will be given, so whilst a technical background is beneficial, it is not essential to have retail systems experience from day one. The role operates on a fortnightly rota of 75 hours (six days in week one, four days in week two), with a daily start time of no later than 08:00. Some weekend working is required to meet customer demands, and there is the possibility of additional overtime by prior arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out on-site installation, fault diagnosis and rectification of retail IT systems
  • Completing and submitting worksheets, timesheets and expenses accurately and on time
  • Maintaining clear, professional communication with customers and colleagues, both verbally and in writing
  • Adhering to company health and safety standards at all times
  • Managing your own workload effectively whilst working independently in the field
