We are working with a well-established, privately owned building services consultancy with over 25 years experience delivering sustainable engineering design across London and internationally. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a proven background in UK building services consultancy to join their London team.
The Role
You will lead the design and delivery of mechanical (HVAC) building services systems across a range of projects, including commercial offices, high-end residential, and student accommodation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading mechanical design from concept through to completion
- Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, and technical reports
- Designing in line with UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidelines
- Using industry-standard tools such as Revit MEP and IES / Hevacomp (or similar)
- Managing project delivery, budgets, and timelines
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, architects, and project teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
Requirements (Essential)
- 5+ years experience in a UK building services consultancy
- Strong background in HVAC design for building projects
- Working knowledge of CIBSE guides and UK Building Regulations (Part L, etc.)
- Experience using Revit MEP and building performance tools (IES / Hevacomp or similar)
- Proven ability to manage projects and build client relationships
Desirable
- Chartered or working towards CIBSE / IMechE
- Experience delivering low-carbon / sustainable design solutions
