Our client is a Leeds-based specialist in control panel design, manufacturing, and building management systems, with over 25 years of industry experience. They provide a full end-to-end service, including design, in-house panel build, system engineering, installation, and ongoing maintenance across commercial, industrial, and public sector projects.

They are known for delivering high-quality, bespoke control solutions and have built a strong reputation for long-term client relationships and consistent project delivery. Projects typically include a 75/25 split between new works and rework, covering sectors such as new-build schools, student accommodation, office developments, and manufacturing facilities, with project values ranging from £10k to £500k.

The Building Management System (BMS) Estimating Manager will work closely with the Business Development Director to prepare accurate and competitive tender documentation and issue to clients. You will oversee the Estimating Team, currently consisting of two estimators with planned growth, and manage the tender workload to ensure all deadlines are met. This role will predominantly be office-based at LS12 6LL, with some flexibility for ad hoc working from home. The business primarily works with Trend and Tridium BMS platforms.

A key focus in the first 6-12 months will be taking ownership of day-to-day estimating management and tender coordination, allowing the Business Development Director greater capacity to focus on expanding sales opportunities and new business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Business Development Director to prepare accurate and competitive tender documentation and issue to clients
  • Manage the Estimating Team and manage tender workload to meet tender return deadlines
  • Ensure effective communications with customers
  • Ensure compliance with all CCI Policies and Procedures (i.e. ISO9001 etc.)
  • Sales handovers to be carried out to the Calverley Controls team
  • Regular review of quotes in line with completion requirements
  • Reporting on completed quotes
  • Continually working to identify improvements to the ISO9001 document framework
  • Continually look to improve information sharing on tenders issued to the client

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working within estimating, tendering or commercial management in a relevant industry
  • Strong understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) or control systems (ideally Trend and Tridium)
  • Proven ability to manage an estimating team and tender workload
  • Experience producing accurate and competitive tender documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and internal teams
  • Good understanding of ISO9001 or similar quality management systems
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise multiple tenders effectively
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and reporting skills
