Our client is proud to be a leading commercial construction company and fit-out contractor in Manchester, with over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality projects across the UK. They are seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor with significant experience and understanding of the UK Commercial Fit Out & Refurbishment sector. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with full project delivery including estimating and contract negotiation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Quantifying, purchasing and procurement of materials and sub-contractors
- Overseeing project cost control and final account agreements
- Conducting feasibility studies and cost analysis for potential projects
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets for fit-out and refurbishment projects
- Reviewing and analysing contractor bids and proposals
- Monitoring project progress, costs, and timelines, providing regular reports to stakeholders
- Providing advice on cost-saving measures and value engineering options
- Conducting site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials used
- Preparing monthly progress reports and financial statements
- Managing the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier selection
- Overseeing contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance and managing variations
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and all members of the project team
- Working closely with project managers, designers, and clients to ensure project objectives are met
Requirements:
- A full UK driving license
- A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- 5 years proven experience in quantity surveying within the fit-out and refurbishment sectors
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations
