Family Law Solicitor (Legal Aid) | London | Full Time Office based | 09:30 17:30 |Starting salary from £50,000

Our client is a well-established High Street Law Firm with four branches across England. They are committed to providing high-quality legal services and take pride in their strong reputation in Family Law and Legal Aid work.

They are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Solicitor with a strong background in legal aid to join their dynamic team. This role requires someone who is highly motivated, passionate about family law, and capable of working independently while maintaining excellent client care and case management.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Minimum 3 years PQE in Family Law
• Strong legal aid knowledge and a passion for making a difference
• Proven experience in handling legal aid family law cases
• Excellent IT skills and ability to work with case management systems
• Professional, approachable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Own client following is an advantage but not essential
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after initial training

What will your role look like?

• Legal Aid Expertise: In-depth knowledge of family legal aid procedures is essential, including submitting applications, assessing eligibility, and delegating functions
• Casework: Handling a broad range of family matters, including:
  • Divorce & Financial Remedy Proceedings
  • Cohabitation & Pre-Nuptial Agreements
  • Schedule I Proceedings & Emergency Injunctions
  • Private Law Children Act Matters
  • TOLATA cases
  • Compliance & Regulation: Familiarity with Lexcel compliance is desirable (training will be provided)
  • Advocacy: Experience in court advocacy is preferred but not essential
  • Client & Case Management:
    • Excellent client care and communication skills
    • Strong drafting and writing skills
    • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and meet deadlines
    • Supporting the Team: Experience assisting senior solicitors on complex cases
    • Billing & Financial Awareness: Experience in private fee-earning and billing is desirable
