Our client is a family-run business established in 1975, well known in the area for their swimming lessons. The company has two sites within 10 minutes of each other and prides itself on never having to close the pools unless necessary.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities & Maintenance Operative to support the day-to-day running of their swimming facilities. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in maintaining safe, clean and welcoming environments. You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the upkeep of the facilities
  • Carrying out maintenance checks
  • Assisting with pool operations
  • Ensuring customers and staff have a positive experience

Please note: This role will cover both sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilities & Maintenance
    • Complete daily health and safety checks of equipment, machinery and facilities using established checklists
    • Identify faults, report issues and ensure repairs are completed within appropriate timescales
    • Carry out general maintenance tasks and support the upkeep of both facilities
    • Complete daily cleaning duties to ensure the sites remain clean, safe and welcoming
    • Manage repairs and liaise with contractors when required
    • Order cleaning products, chemicals, merchandise, and food and drink supplies
  • Pool Operations
    • Work alongside PSOP and PTOP holders to ensure pool procedures, safety standards and operational requirements are being followed
    • Carry out pool plant maintenance checks and support the smooth operation of the facilities
    • Complete chemical checks and support chemical management procedures
    • Ensure each facility is fully prepared and ready for opening each day
  • Team & Operations Support
    • Support the management team with the day-to-day operation of the facilities
    • Share knowledge and work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards
    • Help create a safe, enjoyable and welcoming environment for customers
    • Be available to work outside normal hours when required

Requirements

  • Essential
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Positive outlook and a proactive attitude
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Full UK driving licence
  • Desirable
    • Pool Plant Operators Qualification
    • Swimming background or experience
