Our client is an independent school specialising in providing a nurturing, alternative education for young people aged 11-19 who are disengaged from mainstream education, or those with additional needs such as autism, anxiety and ADHD. They are a small school with under 45 students and a friendly, family-based environment that supports vulnerable young people to achieve outstanding outcomes when they were expected to achieve none.
The Role
Working in groups of 5 to 10 young people, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of our innovative English programme of study, whilst also supporting the Humanities team, where appropriate. You will help to ensure that students benefit from their learning and that steady and sustainable improvements are made in overall levels of retention and achievement. Ideally, you will have taught a Language subject up to GCSE or had experience delivering English Functional Skills.
Key responsibilities:
- To teach students at Key Stage 3 and on KS4 English courses, to include scheduled lectures, demonstrations, remote teaching, tutorials, supervised on/off site study and assessment.
