Our client is a global supplier to the Composite & Coating Industry with 19 manufacturing sites and 5 technology centres in 12 countries. The company is one of the world's largest suppliers of unsaturated polyester resins for composites and a leading supplier of coating resins for a wide variety of markets and applications.
They are seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Manager to manage the maintenance of the plant and buildings at the Mitcham facility, utilising the MAXIMO preventative maintenance system. Responsibilities include:
- Administering and maintaining the MAXIMO system and records, ensuring all plant equipment is safe and operable with minimum downtime.
- Managing the maintenance and capital budgets.
- Executing the capital plan by completing assigned projects on schedule and within budget.
- Forecasting cash flow for all project spending and closing projects upon receipt of the last invoice.
- Ensuring that all abatement equipment is maintained for regulatory compliance.
- Maintaining compliance with maintenance standards, procedures, and records as per regulatory authority and internal requirements.
- Ensuring all engineering activities adhere to procedures and EHS practices, aiming for a zero accident rate.
- Purchasing and controlling maintenance services and materials within budget constraints.
- Controlling inventory of spares and consumables.
- Carrying out project design for plant modifications or managing external contractors.
- Managing the operation of utilities at the Mitcham Facility, including energy efficiency and safety.
- Keeping plant documentation updated and organised, such as P&IDs, electrical loop drawings, and equipment files.
Qualifications:
- Degree level in Chemical/Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or at least 5 years' experience in chemical, manufacturing or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- High level of competence in mechanical maintenance.
- Knowledge of integrated systems (Instrumentation / PLC/ HMI).
- Experience in managing and controlling a maintenance budget.
- Clear understanding of risk management and respect for hazards associated with a chemical plant.
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues and interact with other services.
- Self-motivated, quality and safety conscious individual.
- Ability to manage a maintenance team and outside contractors.
