Our client is a North London–based architectural modelmaking studio that collaborates with leading architects, developers, and designers. They create models that combine craftsmanship, precision, and storytelling — from early concept pieces to large-scale presentation models. Their approach blends traditional craftsmanship with digital fabrication, using authentic materials to express the true qualities of architectural design.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in architectural modelmaking
- Highly skilled and accurate in fine modelmaking, with experience across a range of materials — acrylic, timber, metal, and more
- Proficient in Rhino (preferred), AutoCAD, and other CAD/CAM software
- Experienced in digital fabrication, including laser cutting, CNC machining, and 3D printing
- Organised, calm under pressure, and confident in leading and mentoring others
- HND or Degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent industry experience
What will your role look like?
- Lead the design and production of high-quality architectural models
- Translate 2D drawings and 3D models into precise and buildable model kits
- Manage your own projects — planning timelines, materials, and client communication
- Guide and support junior modelmakers, sharing knowledge and expertise
- Operate and maintain workshop tools and digital fabrication equipment
- Experiment with materials, finishes, and techniques to achieve authentic architectural representation
- Ensure the highest level of accuracy, consistency, and finish across all work
