Our client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Store Manager with warmth, confidence and excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate will be proactive, ready to hit the ground running and motivated to take on the challenge of running an established coffee shop with a strong team in place.
The Role
As Store Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the coffee shop, leading and developing a team of 8 while driving sales, profitability and customer service.
You will work alongside the Assistant Manager and Head Barista as part of the management team, with responsibility for recruitment, training and performance management.
The role is 45 contracted hours per week, with varied shifts Monday to Sunday. The store opening hours are:
Monday to Friday: 7:00 am–6:00 pm
Saturday: 7.30 am–6:00 pm
Sunday: 8:00 am–5:00 pm
Early starts, closing shifts and weekend work are shared fairly amongst the management team. Bank Holiday working is required, with flexibility around the rota provided the needs of the business are met.
Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the coffee shop
Lead, motivate and manage a team of 8
Recruit, train and manage the performance of team members
Work alongside the Assistant Manager and Head Barista
Drive sales and profitability
Monitor and achieve key KPIs including net sales, year-on-year growth, product availability, customer reviews and wait times
Maintain product availability at 98.5%
Maintain a customer review target of 4.75 stars
Maintain a target wait time of 3 minutes
Deliver excellent customer service and professionally handle customer complaints and escalations
Ensure high standards of quality, cleanliness and food safety are maintained
Manage stock ordering and availability
Create and manage staff rotas to meet the needs of the business
Motivate the team and maintain high levels of staff engagement
Ensure the store operates efficiently during busy periods
Work flexibly across opening, closing, weekend and Bank Holiday shifts as required
Requirements
Essential
Previous management experience within the coffee or food service industry
Strong customer service skills
Positive attitude and strong communication skills
Ability to motivate and lead a team
Proactive approach with the ability to hit the ground running
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask and stay focused
Flexible approach to working hours and rotas
Adaptable and open to different ways of working
Desirable
Experience working towards sales and operational KPIs
