Our client is a high-growth fintech and payments business specialising in merchant acquiring, eCommerce payments, international payments, and complex payment solutions. Established for nearly 20 years, the company processes billions in annual transaction volume and works with over 40 acquiring banks and payment partners globally. Following significant investment into its proprietary technology platform, the business is evolving into a technology-led fintech whilst maintaining an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven culture focused on long-term partnerships rather than transactional sales.

With the business continuing to experience exceptional growth, they are looking to appoint experienced Business Development Managers with a strong background in card acquiring and Cardholder Not Present (CNP)/eCommerce payment solutions.

The Opportunity

These are consultative, relationship-led B2B sales roles focused on developing new business and managing merchant relationships within the card acquiring and payments sector. The successful candidates will work with businesses requiring sophisticated payment solutions, particularly within eCommerce and other Cardholder Not Present (CNP) environments. You'll be advising merchants on payment acceptance, acquiring solutions, payment gateways and wider payment technologies, helping them optimise how they process online transactions.

This role will particularly suit individuals who have sold card acquiring, merchant acquiring, payment gateways or Payment Service Provider (PSP) solutions into eCommerce merchants and understand the complexities of online payments. This is a highly autonomous environment with no restrictive territories or excessive KPI management. Successful individuals will be trusted to build their own pipeline, develop strategic relationships and grow long-term recurring revenue streams, supported by experienced leadership and extensive banking partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities across card acquiring, merchant acquiring and eCommerce payment solutions.
  • Build long-term relationships with merchants, introducers, affiliates and strategic partners.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to onboarding and ongoing account development.
  • Generate opportunities through networking, LinkedIn, referrals, partnerships and outbound activity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve merchants' existing online payment infrastructure and acquiring arrangements.
  • Consult with merchants on payment acceptance, payment gateways, acquiring solutions and transaction processing.
  • Work closely with internal specialists and acquiring partners to deliver tailored payment solutions.
  • Develop a strategic pipeline across eCommerce, retail, hospitality, travel and other payment-intensive sectors.
  • Maintain strong client relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.
  • Represent the business at meetings, networking events and industry functions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline management.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have recent experience selling Cardholder Not Present (CNP) and eCommerce card acquiring solutions. You'll ideally have experience in several of the following areas:

  • Card acquiring
  • Merchant acquiring
  • Cardholder Not Present (CNP) payments
  • eCommerce payments
  • Online payment acceptance
  • Payment gateways
  • Payment Service Providers (PSPs)
  • Integrated payment solutions
  • Digital payment technologies

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Proven B2B business development experience within card acquiring, merchant acquiring or closely related payment solutions.
  • A strong understanding of the online payments ecosystem and consultative sales process.
  • Experience selling solutions into eCommerce merchants with complex payment requirements.
  • The ability to build your own pipeline through networking, referrals and proactive business development.
  • A relationship-led approach with excellent commercial credibility.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage longer sales cycles and complex commercial discussions.
  • A self-motivated approach and the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
  • UK-based and willing to travel nationally when required.

What's on Offer

  • £50,000-£80,000+ basic salary depending on experience and sector expertise.
  • Uncapped recurring commission structure with significant long-term earning potential.
  • Commission paid on ongoing revenue generated for the lifetime of merchant relationships, whilst employed.
  • High-growth fintech environment with exceptional market momentum.
  • Remote-first working with flexibility and autonomy.
  • Monthly team meet-ups in Leeds.
  • Opportunity to work on sophisticated eCommerce and international payment solutions.
  • Access to over 40 acquiring and banking partners.
  • Entrepreneurial, non-corporate culture focused on trust, innovation and results.
  • Clear opportunity to build a substantial recurring revenue book.
  • Initial onboarding and training at the Yorkshire HQ (accommodation provided).
  • 22 days' holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off (increasing with service).
  • Pension scheme and additional employee benefits.
