The Role

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to support our Finance function by managing the purchase ledger process and ensuring invoices, payments and reconciliations are processed accurately and on time. This role suits someone who enjoys working with detail, likes structure and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Main duties include:

  • Processing purchase invoices accurately and promptly
  • Maintaining invoice approval systems in line with authorized controls
  • Preparing and processing supplier payments (BACS/cheque) in accordance with payment terms
  • Setting up supplier accounts and dealing with supplier queries
  • Reviewing and reconciling supplier statements
  • Performing bank reconciliations and cashbook postings
  • Dealing with multi-currency bank accounts
  • Supporting automation and improvement of purchase ledger processes
  • Assisting with month-end reporting
  • Undertaking various ad-hoc finance duties as required

Requirements

Essential

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer literate with strong Excel skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience using Microsoft Business Central
