Building Surveyor | Bristol | Full Time | £28,000–£36,000 per annum Founded in 2019, our client is a Bristol-based Property and Construction Consultancy, providing Building Surveying, Project Management and Sustainable Development Solutions to a range of private and public sector clients.

They specialise in delivering expert advice, managing construction projects, and ensuring high-quality outcomes for their clients, with a focus on the people who deliver these outcomes and the relationships they build in doing so.

The Role Working from the Bristol office in our building surveying team, you will be involved in providing specialist advice across the full spectrum of building surveying services such as: managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, project management/contract administration, party wall advice, new build, renovations and maintenance works.

Working across all sectors, you will be involved with a variety of high-profile clients across the South West and nationwide.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Supporting directors in delivering business objectives
  • Positively engaging with customers and developing, growing, and maintaining customer relationships
  • Delivering high-quality services and ensuring building surveying deliverables meet customer requirements
  • Managing projects in accordance with business procedures
  • Managing building surveying commissions including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects from feasibility through to handover and post-completion reviews
  • Preparing and managing planned maintenance programmes
  • Quality monitoring of construction projects
  • Planning service delivery in conjunction with the Director
  • Providing professional advice to clients and project team members
  • Ensuring quantitative and financial information is checked before issue
  • Remaining within role remit and seeking approval for additional responsibilities where required
  • Producing and presenting to customers
  • Managing service delivery for profit
  • Advising directors of project issues, particularly those impacting PI insurance
  • Identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth Requirements Essential
  • Graduate or Assistant Building Surveyor with 1–3 years’ consultancy experience
  • Ideally working towards APC
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to manage workload and multiple project instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and professional approach
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required (ideally 2–3 years preferred) Desirable
  • Progress towards APC with structured training underway
  • Exposure to a broad range of surveying disciplines including dilapidations, party wall matters, and project management
  • Experience managing or supporting small projects independently
  • Interest in business development and client growth activities What’s In It For You
