A growing group with ambitious plans is strengthening its leadership bench and is now seeking a Divisional Finance Director to take ownership of one of its most commercially important business units. This role is ideal for a senior finance leader who enjoys operating close to the action. The Role

As Divisional Finance Director, you will be the financial lead for your division, working alongside the Managing Director and senior leadership team to drive performance, improve decision making and support sustainable growth. You will have full responsibility for financial leadership within the division, balancing robust financial control with commercial insight. This is a hands on, highly visible position that requires strong on-site presence as the business continues to evolve, invest and adapt. You will also work closely with Group Finance, ensuring alignment with wider financial strategy, governance and reporting requirements.

Key Focus Areas

  • Own and deliver the divisional financial strategy, supporting growth objectives while protecting margin, cash flow and long-term resilience.
  • Lead the divisional budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting cycle, providing clear, timely insight to support confident decision making.
  • Produce high quality commercial analysis and financial modelling to inform pricing strategy, investment decisions, contract negotiations and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the SLT, constructively challenging assumptions, shaping strategy and converting financial insight into practical outcomes.
  • Lead, develop and strengthen the divisional finance team, embedding clear accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure financial systems, processes and controls within the division are robust, scalable and fully aligned with group governance standards.
  • Build and manage effective relationships with external stakeholders relevant to the division, including auditors, advisors and commercial partners.

About You

This opportunity will suit a commercially driven finance leader who wants ownership of a business unit and the chance to influence outcomes directly with a recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Proven experience in a senior finance role within a manufacturing, engineering, FMCG or distribution led environment. Experience operating at Finance Director or senior finance leadership level within a division, business unit or SME, with clear accountability for results. Strong analytical and modelling capability, with the ability to turn complex information into clear, commercial insight. The confidence and credibility to operate as a key adviser to senior leaders, balancing challenge with collaboration. A leadership style that develops people, builds trust and raises standards. Strong systems and digital awareness, with advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP and CRM platforms.
