Operations Manager
Poole | £50,000 to £60,000 DOE
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager who loves being at the heart of a business and taking real ownership of how things work.
We’re working with a growing product based business in the Poole area looking for someone to take responsibility across its operational function, from production and suppliers through to logistics, stock and delivery.
It’s a broad role, so we’re not necessarily looking for someone who has done every single element before. What is important is that you understand how the different parts of an operation fit together, you’re commercially minded and you’re comfortable getting into the detail as well as looking at the bigger picture.
What will you be getting involved in?
You’ll have oversight of the end to end operational journey, including:
• Production planning and ensuring products are delivered on time, to specification and within budget
• Supplier and factory relationships, sourcing and commercial negotiations
• Managing critical paths, priorities and key delivery dates
• International shipping, freight, customs and inbound stock
• Stock management, warehousing and order fulfilment
• Identifying better, smarter and more efficient ways of working
• Operational compliance, including relevant product, supplier and ethical standards
• Health & Safety across the operational environment
• Working closely with different areas of the business to keep everything moving in the right direction
Who are we looking for?
You could already be an Operations Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Production Manager or in a broader operational leadership role and ready for more ownership.
You’ll ideally have experience within a product, manufacturing, consumer goods, wholesale or similar environment where you’ve had exposure to suppliers, stock and the movement of physical products.
More importantly, you’ll be someone who is organised, commercially switched on and good at solving problems. You’ll be comfortable juggling priorities, building strong supplier relationships and taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what needs doing.
This is a hands on role within a growing business, so it will suit someone who enjoys variety and wants the opportunity to genuinely influence how an operation develops.
What’s on offer?
• Salary of £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience
• Broad role with genuine ownership and autonomy
• Opportunity to influence processes and ways of working
• Growing business with plenty happening
• Poole based
If you enjoy making things happen, improving how businesses operate and want a role where no two days are quite the same, we’d love to hear from you.
