This is an opportunity to step into a business with a highly capable finance team already in place, where the focus is on guidance, oversight and continuous improvement, rather than day-to-day processing. You will work closely with the Managing Directors, providing clarity, structure and commercial insight, while supporting a team that is experienced, engaged, and keen to continue developing.

This is a senior position centred around financial governance, reporting quality, and team development. You will take ownership of reviewing and strengthening the finance function, ensuring reporting is robust, controls are effective, and the business is well-positioned to support ongoing growth and change. Given the nature of the business, this role will suit someone comfortable working in an evolving environment, where priorities can shift and a proactive, collaborative approach is key.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing senior oversight of financial control, governance and compliance
  • Reviewing and signing off monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and meaningful insight
  • Supporting and guiding month-end processes, ensuring timely and high-quality reporting
  • Acting as a key point of contact for year-end, audit and statutory requirements
  • Working closely with the existing finance team, mentoring, supporting and building capability
  • Strengthening financial processes, reporting structures and internal controls
  • Overseeing areas such as payroll, revenue processes and working capital
  • Supporting wider business initiatives, including governance, compliance and operational improvements
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the leadership team

About you:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience operating at Senior Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Head of Finance level
  • Strong financial governance and reporting expertise
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with an established team, adding value without disrupting
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to operate in a changing environment
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and build strong relationships across the business

The environment:

This is a business with a strong culture and a team that works well together. People are experienced, supportive, and take pride in what they do. It will suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively, adding structure and insight, and helping a business continue to evolve without overcomplicating what already works well.

What’s on offer:

  • Part-time 2-3 days per week, flexible working, with an initial office presence and more flexibility after the probationary period
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 with service + Bank Holidays
  • Free, secure parking
  • Pension and Life Assurance - 4 x salary
  • Access to discounted gym membership and wellbeing support
  • Enhanced family-friendly and life event policies
  • Regular social events and a genuinely positive team culture
  • A stable, long-standing team environment where people stay and develop
