Summary
The Senior Production Engineer will be responsible for the smooth New product Introduction into the operations environment. Providing technical support to the Engineering and Operations departments, improving existing processes and resolving technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Produce CAD drawings, SOPs and written specifications for new product launches to direct the Operations team in effective and efficient product assembly and test
- Support operations to resolve technical issues, ensuring all investigation work is documented, by developing robust production processes and improving product designs, with the aim to reduce cost and improve reliability, while complying with current quality standards
- Design, develop, document and improve required tooling and associated test jigs, in a timely manner, by liaising with the design and manufacturing teams, to guarantee product quality and operational productivity and efficiency
- Review product and process documentation and ERP system information changes (including bills of materials, product routings and design change requests)
- Undertake detailed analysis using statistical methods, providing relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to evidence process weakness and measure improvement whilst proposing and implementing corrective actions
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Additional Skills
- Knowledge of IFS ERP software and Microsoft SharePoint
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards
Experience
A strong engineering background. Including experience of 3D CAD at component level is a necessity. A wide range of experience in a design and manufacturing environment, ideally gained in SME within the electronics manufacturing industry.
